Scientific Name: Melanotaenia fluviatilis

Water: Thrives in clean, well-maintained aquariums.

Ideal Levels:

pH: Neutral (6.5-7.5)
GH: Soft to moderately soft (5-10 dGH)
KH: Moderately low (3-8 dKH)

Diet: Omnivores. Enjoy flakes, pellets, and occasional bloodworms.

Tank Mates: Peaceful! Ideal with other small fish like tetras, rasboras, and corydoras.

Sexing: Males are more colorful with red fins, while females are a shimmery silver.

Breeding: Easy to breed! Provide hiding spots and maintain good water quality.

Max Size & Lifespan: Compact at 3-3.5 inches, they live up to 5 years.

General Information: Schooling fish, happiest in groups of 6 or more. Can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures than most tropical fish.
